The Ring outdoors camera
The Ring outdoors camera, powered by a solar panel. Unfortunately the solar panel came with a non-standard interface (no usb-c), with no possibility to connect the solar panel with the outdoor camera. Support from Ring was bad, they simply denied (despite sharing tons of pictures) that is was possible that they shipped the wrong solarpanel! Support employee was not very fluent in English. Camera itself is top, but having to re-charge the battery every 3 weeks……

Dont use Ring.com for security system
Dont use Ring.com for security system. They lied to about if my home security systrm can be hacked. It has, been hacked, several times leading to criminals activities. Several times i complained and, several times they failed to upgrade for free because of there failings, and they failed to make good will gesture, compensation etc.

UNAUTHORIZED CHARGING AND NO WAY TO CANCEL
I pay for two Ring services: $100 basic plan and $100 professional monitoring. They are migrating them into a bundled $200 plan that includes their AI. I signed up Jan 6th, and they charged me an additional $100 with no warning today (Jan 14th) with an email a few minutes later explaining this. So I paid $200 for a week of services, they changed the plan, and then charged me an additional $100 for an AI service I DO NOT WANT and DID NOT WANT when I was picking my plans. By their explanation, the basic + monitoring should be $200, which I paid. Why am I being charged an additional "prorated" $100 a week after paying for a whole year? Absolutely ridiculous, and their customer support and plan pages are all down so you can't cancel. Awful company.

Company doesn't make good on promises
I have been very unhappy with Ring as a company. My brother gifted me several cameras after a break in. I used them inside my home for peace of mind. But the fees are ridiculous and the subscription model stinks. I moved homes a few months ago and my camera was stolen from my garage. They state they will replace a stolen camera if there is a police report. I filed a police report and then got an email that said 'after reviewing your case and our policy, we won't be replacing your device'. Well, I will never replace that camera now - nothing makes me more mad than a company that does not make good on their promises. I gift a lot of cameras to my clients when they buy a new home and it will never be Ring now. Go with something else. Camera is fine, company is horrible.

Does not work properly in cold weather 😒
I have a ring outdoor, doorbell with a camera. With the cold weather, it did not work very well. Not registering people at the door. And if someone tried to ring the doorbell, it did not connect to my phone. So why don't they work in cold weather ? This is in the UK.

Made a product that you can't change the bulb!
I have a floodlight cam, one of the bulbs has gone but they have told me you can't replace bulbs so I have to buy a new unit. Spent 1 hour on phone they told me they would escalate to management and let me know within 72hours, when I chased there was no record of the call, they told me to just buy a new one!

Austausch erst nach 45 Tagen + 6 Anrufen – nur mit Hartnäckigkeit zum Ergebnis
Ich habe ein Abo und dadurch eine verlängerte Garantie! Für eine Elite doorbell musste ich meine Kamera zurücksenden. Nach 45 Tagen und sechs anrufen war ich es irgendwann leid ständig die selbe Phrase zu hören. Noch jeden dritten Satz. Danke für Ihre Geduld. Wir entschuldigen uns, das sind alles auswendig gelernte Texte und Kreislauf ist darauf aufgebaut, dass der Kunde abgeholt wird vertröstet wird und warten soll. Eine Lösung am Endeich bin so lange am Telefon geblieben und habe mich zum nächsten Manager oder „Vorgesetzten“ weiterleiten lassen bis dass ich nachher dreimal weitergeleitet wurde und irgendwann auf Englisch mit einem Mitarbeiter gesprochen habe, der mein Gerät dann final zum Umtausch freigegeben, hat mit der Begründung sie warten ja jetzt schon länger als 30 Tage auf eine Antwort , aber vorher wurde ich mindestens 30 mal am Telefon von den Mitarbeitern darauf hingewiesen, dass man nix tun kann. Mein Tipp wenn wirklich 30 Tage vergangen sind und die Frage kommt, „kann ich sonst noch was für Sie tun?“ Dreht die Schleife einfach um und bleibt an Hörer. Es wird so lange entschuldigt, dass das Lager noch etwas Zeit braucht bis das man keine Lust mehr hat. Aber 400 € für eine neue Elite wollte ich nicht zahlen aus Prinzip, mit einem Rabatt von 20 % wird auch versucht zu vertrösten! Einfach dran bleiben und nicht auflegen entweder sollen die das Gerät zurück schicken, was die nicht können oder die bezahlen mir meinen Artikel den den Sie mir nicht zurücksenden können (es geht hier nicht um die Widerrufsfrist die dann verstrichen nach dem Kauf) das wird dann nämlich auch versucht. Bleibt einfach dran

Ring,ring no ones there!
My mother passed a year ago & we discovered the ring doorbell we removed from her property recently in a box. We decided to install without any knowledge of having to change accounts & requests. We soon learnt that we had to contact ring to get the account changed which involves the previous owner to delete it from their account. All makes sense unless the previous owner has departed this world then the doorbell is rendered useless and is to be thrown away with no use to anyone. This is due to the number you have to ring from the UK works. It feels your phoning long distance back in the eighties then the line goes dead but the metre is ticking with no reponses on the other end of the line. So you are reduced to speaking to their useless bot who can not deal with the question put to them and advises to phone an agent. Unfortunately the bot has no idea that there is not any agents that pick up phones. It seems ring have modelled their business the same as sky there is an service to buy but once bought there is no customer service just forums. The waste of this electrical device on the environment is huge and unnecessary if the previous owner has passed away. It has me so enraged that companies like ring just exploit their customers for maximum profit. I have now taken the steps to write a letter to trading standards and my MP to ask how these companies obtain a licence from the UK government to exploit people & to have no UK customer service in place. For far to long the UK government has allowed companies like Ring, Amazon, Sky, Vodaphone & Dyson to exploit their UK customers with call centres that are not based in the UK and can not solve any problems when you get through. Just the same excuse of sorry sir or sorry madam is just delaying tactics while exploiting oversea workers disgraceful!

NOT IMPRESSED WITH RING
Was never impressed at all with the tech,or picture quality,zoom,clarity. Then the basic went to over 100 per year, product is a scam,you spend 200,to just get another bill!! SCREW Ring! Bought a Eaufy,way better tech,picture and more!! With no monthly charge!!

Ring focuses far more on slick advertising and making money than on producing a genuinely good security product.

While the battery-powered doorbells and cameras may be convenient for many households, the picture quality is poor. Do not expect to be able to clearly identify any perpetrators from the footage.

Notifications are also unreliable, with frequent delays reaching your phone — particularly when you’re not at home, which rather defeats the purpose of a security system.

If you are looking for a robust CCTV or home security solution, Ring is simply not the right choice.

To make matters worse, the UK helpline number listed on the app and website does not work. I have reported this directly to Ring, and they have done nothing to resolve it. 
When I did speak to ring representative regarding issues, they could not resolve the issue & said they would escalate this to a senior member of the team, who would contact me in 48-72 hours. Presumably, this was just to get me off the phone, as no one ever got in touch. 

Finally, the doorbell cameras themselves are easily prised off by hand. Although Ring advertises a “one free replacement” policy, this only applies if the device was purchased directly from ring.com. This is not made clear and contradicts what a basic Google search suggests about purchases from Amazon (who own Ring).

Overall, very disappointing.

Absolutely terrible purchase
Absolutely terrible purchase – easily the biggest waste of money I’ve made in years. This thing is NOT cheap (especially when you factor in the subscription you basically need to make it useful), yet it performs like a budget knock-off from a dodgy website. Even after spending ages fiddling with all the custom motion zones, sensitivity sliders, and “smart” alerts, it still misses most actual movements. Delivery drivers, people walking past, my own kids coming home – half the time it doesn’t even bother to record anything. But heaven forbid a leaf blows across the garden at 3pm? Instant notification. The motion detection is shockingly bad for the price. I’ve seen £25 wired doorbells from no-name brands on Amazon that pick up people better than this. The app is clunky, the video quality is meh unless it’s perfect lighting, and the delays are ridiculous. Save yourself the frustration and the money. There are genuinely much better (and way cheaper) options on the market in 2026. Very, very disappointing – stay well clear. Do NOT recommend. 1

Terrible product and customer service
I was sent a defective ring doorbell. I have been dealing with technical support for a week and have spent over 200$ on an electrician to come out and assist with this. The tech team at ring are so awful. Now they are telling me I may not get a refund on this defective device that I bought from them. I have yet to even get any help. Go with a different security company. This one will not help you if anything goes wrong and will charge you for it.

Dear Ring Support Team, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with Ring. First of all, the subscription prices have become absurdly high. For what is offered, the cost is simply not justifiable anymore. We have invested heavily in the Ring ecosystem over the years and currently use multiple Ring products at home, but the ever-increasing subscription fees feel like a cash grab rather than added value. Because of this, it has now become clear to us that we will be switching to a better, more customer-friendly brand in the near future. On top of that, our Ring Video Doorbell is once again making a cracking noise when it activates. This is already the second doorbell with the exact same issue. Frankly, this points to poor build quality. Two defective doorbells is not bad luck — it’s a pattern. At this point, the product quality can only be described as unacceptable. We expected far more from a brand that positions itself as a premium smart home solution. Instead, we are left with overpriced subscriptions and unreliable hardware. TERRIBLE customer service
1) An outdoor camera that they say can be wall or ceiling mounted can be ceiling mounted, IF you don't mind an inverted image. They have no way to rotate the image. 2) Multiple, lengthy calls to Ring, whereby you get disconnected everytime they try to transfer you to someone who can supposedly figure it out; then call again, go over the whole issue again and again. Terribly frustrating. No resolution. Just terrible customer service. I'm about ready to rip out our whole Ring system that we spent a big chunk of money on and replace them with professionals

Worlds worst technical and account…
Worlds worst technical and account support. Despite having an account with Ring which is verifiable by the email address associated with the account, there is no way for us to login via the site or app due to a security glitch. There is also no workaround i.e. delete the account or update the details on the account, so the email address can never EVER be used with Ring again. Absolutely ridiculous and bonkers for a tech company of this size. I'll never buy one of their products again and I'd suggest others to do the same... overrated

WARNING: DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. If I can save one person from the same customer service nightmare I endured, this review will be worth my time. I ordered 3 floodlight cameras and 1 door bell. They only sent the doorbell. Even though their own delivery receipt confirmed they didn’t send the floodlight cans, it took 3 painful and lengthy calls to customer service who had no ability to help. They have to contact elsewhere in the company and they are so hopeless they couldn’t figure out the problem. After finally listening, they issued me a refund for the floodlight cams. I had just wanted to receive them as I paid a discounted price in the Black Friday sales. They said I needed to repurchase (losing about $400). I decided I would not be doing that and asked to start the process of sending back the doorbell which I no longer had use for without the balance of the security system I ordered. It took 4 painful and long calls to ask for the to initiate the return, leaving me in the dark as to where to send the item. Each time they would say that I would receive an email within 72 hours and the email would never come, continuing the saga. Finally I put my foot down and they send me the return details. I send the item back taking photos of the packaging and tracking it. Once I had evidence it was received I had to call 3 times to finally get a refund. Each time I was told I would get an email confirming a refund within 48 hours, which never came. The fact that I had no access to speaking with someone who could actually process a refund was very frustrating. I would never ever buy from This company. They have set up their customer service strategy to promotor the consumer having no direct contact or ability to receive help. The whole process was infuriating. They are incompetent or corrupt. Either way, do not buy their products!!!!

I was days out of warranty. The battery wasn't charging anymore. I'm disabled, and a pensioner, who loves alone, and vulnerable. They wouldn't give me a replacement, I was told I'd have to purchase a new one! Which I just can't afford. My son watches over my safety on the share option due to my vulnerability. Shame on you ring, clawing money from the vulnerable with all your wealth!

I bought the ring doorbell many years…
I bought the ring doorbell many years ago. Like 10 years ago? I set it up and installed the app on my phone. It asked for subscription. I refuse to pay any more money. It was on sale on Black Friday as I remembered. I only used it for a short time and put it in my kitchen drawer and left it. I tried to use it again and I can't access my account anymore. I really hate this company now. I am looking to flash this doorbell with custom firmware now. Do not buy anything from them. they are greedy company.

Bought a ring doorbell pro on 12/27…
Bought a ring doorbell pro on 12/27 last year and it broke on 12/29 this year so I had it for about 367 days. Randomly just stopped working and after talking to support they said the device died and needed to be replaced. They only gave the device a 1 year warranty (was like $200 for the doorbell) and support would not help at all. Really scummy and feels bad a premium device can break that easily and Ring does not stand by their devices.
