SINKING SHIP
Used ring from day 1 of there launch, been a great product, but the last few months there have been massive negatives with all the devices, not reliable at all and if it wasn't owned by amazon i think id be trying for a total refund on all devices because this is surely the best case of mis sold I've ever come across. You wont get any joy with customer services they simply say device is good your internet is the problem, well the internet is massively faster and more reliable now than it was 10 years ago, more like ring probably had thousands of customers and now they have billions and guess what, there still on the same servers !!!

Een advies voor mensen die nog willen bestellen bij ring. Doe het niet via ring zelf,schandalig lange wachttijd voor je het product binnen hebt moet bijna 2 weken wachten. En de website zegt duidelijk 3 tot 5 werkdagen. Dat klopt dus zeker niet.
I spent over $500 each on 2 of these…
I spent over $500 each on 2 of these cameras plus pay a subscription every month just to access my videos, and today really showed me how unreliable this system is. A random man was under my carport and the camera only recorded 7 seconds. It never caught how he got in my yard or how he left, even though my settings are on 20-second recordings. Customer service was no help at all and just told me it was “glitching.” For the amount of money this costs, I expected way better. I honestly do not recommend this system at all.

First of all, disclaimer here .... I am not a Audio Visual expert , or a professional camera man or anything like that , this is just my experinece with the Ring Doorbell camera

I dunno about other companies or products but between invisible people walking around in videos to not being able to connect when people are actually standing at your front door...and it's rings time to shine ..and it you get the perpetual "Loading" circle ?!? 🤬🤬
It's madness.
And then you call CS and they start by doing the "thing" they all seem do do and say now. Something along the lines of " I am totally with you on feeling like that and can't explain how sad it makes me that your feeling that way , bet worry not , I am here to solve all your problems so let's get this taken care of!! 🤮🤢

They go and on and on , after hanging up a 35 minute phone call , in left with ..go buy another product we sell , to correct this problem , it's a mounting block and will tijt you unit just a bit, and leave it fixed at an angle ..solving all your problems .
But another product to fix the issue?
How about sell me a product that I don't have to buy yet another one, to get said product to function correctly?
That like saying buy this car..take it home and then your gonna have to buy another product we'll sell to spray on the windows so you can actually use them and see through them . TF?!?

..I install it , and now I have a doorbell camera that dosnt function correctly AND looks like a 3rd grader installed... it's hideous .
But I digress ...look 1/2 the time your ring doorbell camera will display people or rather not display people ....I don't understand the science behind it...and I'm sure there's a wonderful , great explanation of why just the people in the videos that are recorded don't show up , and when they do they are like these see through people-shaped shadow, but I don't really care about the explanation...I thought i bought a doorbell CAMERA?
The the other half of the time when your not watching you loved ones living their best life as Casper the friend ghost on all your notifications . You will be staring at a screen that says "Loading " bug this will likely ONLY be when there is someone at your door or you really need to see who's knocking at 3am.
Simply put the product is Trash...it dosnt work right , or at all in most cases . I don't know how other products work compared I never even tried to check , I just Coughed up the money to have a professional discreet camera system installed and it works exactly how I need it to
Don't waist your money on this Ridiculously overpriced product . .I feel like someone had a warehouse full of 1990's off brand digital cameras and figured out how to repurpose them into what you see today.
Customer services is more of a sales dept. They are not trying to help you fix and things , rather just buy more products or upgraded versions.
I really dislike this product the company , how the charge you for a monthly sub . Just to unlocked the features already on the camea...

Took 3x to get a live person who unfortunately sounded like English was their 3rd language. Offered zero help other than helping me cancel which was actually the easiest part of the whole interaction.
Big Company, Big Hype, Big Waste
I bought a Ring camera bc a neighbor vandalized my minivan but there wasn't a camera filming it.. so to prevent more damage I now have the camera... which was great until the free "Pro" trial ended, and now with the basic subscription it's basically useless for any real protection.
And unfortunately I can't afford the Pro sub cost!
Now I don't get a notification until well after the motion is done; I didn't get a notification when the neighbor arrived and parked their car- I just happened to open the app to randomly check the area and saw the car sitting there. Oh, it filmed ME arriving and parking while the neighbor was gone and notified me 5 minutes later about my arrival .. and the neighbor arrived some time during the 10 minutes between my arrival and my random camera check.
I have the settings on high motion detection!
Oh, and this is hilarious.. I'm getting a TON of motion notifications NOW... it's raining and every 2 minutes I get alerted.. when I open the app to see, the raindrops are nicely displayed.
And I keep getting suggestions about features like facial recognition etc... that are not available for the basic subscription. That's pretty annoying.

Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever. The people that answer the phone have scripts they read from but have no actual knowledge of the product or the system that supports it. We have 2 video cameras, our credit card on file expired, we lost video access. We had to update payment. We updated it on the website. We didn't get video access back and I, as a shared user lost the view from both cameras. After following the prompts given in chat I performed several functions including deleting and reinstalling the app multiple times. I called customer spent over an hour and a half on the phone, the rep finally said we have a technical problem with shared access on our end - our team will get back to you in 24-48 hours - great for security right? I knew I'd never hear from them. This took nearly 3 hours all in between trying to use the website, the app, the chat feature and live customer service to get the message - we will get back to you - I told the rep I'll bet you $1,000 I never hear from anyone - she wisely didn't take the bet! I called back 48 hours later - OMG - 2 more hours and the best they could do was have me as a shared user use my husbands credentials to sign into to be able to see the cameras - which is not ideal - still no video access - had to go to a supervisor who said they saw our payment method update ( from 2 days ago ) and would then grant us video access. Being beyond frustrated I insisted on being escalated and wanted an explanation for all the bad advice lack of knowledge and to know why I have to rig the system with my husbands credentials for my access - ended up finally in the phone with a technology person who honestly was the first person I spoke with who understood the problem!! I spoke to 5 people total- the tech admitted they had issues and at least was able to email me so she could communicate once it was resolved. In the meantime I have rigged access which is less then ideal. So much bad info, lack of knowledge and out right lies. All it took 5 hours of my time to even get to this point. So so so frustrating!!!! I'm going to have a security company install cameras then I'm cancelling ring!

Absolute Abzocke. Nach dem Probemonat funktionieren nicht mal Grundfunktionen wie die Alarmanlage per App zu aktivieren oder deaktivieren. Absolut nutzlos. Und es steht in keiner Produktbeschreibung.
Ich kann das System zurück geben weil Irreführung. Holt euch lieber Eufy

I had a plan for my door bell was paid for the year I wanted to add a monthly plan for my backyard he canceled my yearly plan an charged me for 2 monthly plans an gave me a 13$ refund for the 6months I had left I told him 3 times do not mess with my plan when I saw what happened I called back got a women told her what happened she said she could not put my plan back on but I could start a new on I said then I would loose my money for 6 months finally she said she would give me a rebate of 31$ so I could start a new plan for my doorbell an add a monthly plan for my back yard camera my charge would be 21$ looked at my bank today got charged for 2 I am on the phone right now trying to get some of my money back go offered plans that I don't want when I say no I get put on hold for 5min or so on the 3rd hold ask if I could speak to someone who knows what there doing got put on hold again she is back wants to give me 2 monthly plans I will get my 77$back I took this so at least I will get my 77$ back an can cancel later worse service ever
Incompetent Customer Service
The most unprofessional people i have ever dealt with!! Placed an order of 500e, thd order didn't come on time. I rang to see where it was, a horrible and incompetent woman "Reen" told me I could ring GLS, after 31 minutes of her repeatedly putting me on mute I hot an email that my order was being refunded. After asking why she said there was a problem with the address.
Complete joke!! Don't waste your time or money!!!

Horrible nightmare and worst door bell cam!!!! It does not record videos od starngers in my front door!!!! There was a missing 15 minutes video record of a person in my apartment!!!! Not happy! Don't waste your money!!!Go elsewhere!
Can't be used without a monthly subscription
Here's another one like the main competitor, simplisafe which is horrible. I sure wish this one was any better but it's not. They don't bother to tell you that the only way to use it is with a monthly subscription otherwise you will not be able to connect to it remotely and set the alarm back to off. They used to be great and then they decided that the only way that you can use them even if you don't want to have an outside service monitoring your alarm system, is to subscribe to them. What's even worse is they don't tell you this up front. You have to find out this by installing it and then oops you can't set it with a Wi-Fi connection without a monthly subscription. Just go over to Amazon and look no place in the details do they tell you this.

I just spent two hours on the phone being discriminated against for being American from an Indian representative. Worst two hours of my life! I’ve never been disrespected as bad ever in life until this interaction.
Horrible customer service and the device misses a lot of motion detection
Over the last 6 weeks 1 representative told me they would call me back in 1-2 hours and did not, 1 manager and a representative told me I would receive the latest model as a replacement. I did not. Now 1 representative told me they were going to reinitiate an order because the previous order was done incorrectly and I just found out that hasn't been done. Because of these lies Ring has lost me as a customer.
Long time Ring Customer but not for long
I have been a Ring customer for a long time and generally liked the product. I have kept my software upgraded and also upgraded my equipment several times over the years. My experience lately has really caused me to really think about moving in a different direction. After doing a trial run on their new AI tool (which sells at a much larger price than my current monthly subscription) i started getting messages on my mesh network about a suspicious connection attempt from two of my Ring cameras. These cameras were attempting to contact AWS servers (I know this because i looked them up) but again, this was not happening BEFORE the trial and my network has been installed for at least two years with the same settings and no software updates had been done since before the Ring AI trail. I assume the connection is valid but wanted to be sure so i opened a ticket. After several long phone calls I was told my ticket would be escalated to their Security team and someone would call me back in 2 - 3 days. Well, after almost 2 weeks i called back and was assured they would call but were just busy. Now we are at 4 weeks and so i checked back in .....this time i was told by chat support that is normal and to open a ticket with the company that supports my Mesh routers. I work in IT and have for almost 40 years, i have worked in Operations, Infrastructure and Development.....but one thing i do know is if something was working, then quits working the first thing you look at is what changed. That is what i did and the only thing that changed was the AI trial. Ring is obviously doing a bad job of cleaning up after themselves when doing changes....in my job we hold those folks accountable so Ring guess i will have to do the same....Poor Customer service and poor design evidently.

Die Kameras arbeiten einwandfrei und das Abo alle Kameras für zusammen 99,99 EUR finde ich in Ordnung.
Jedoch Service ist scheinbar ein Fremdwort. Habe Doppel-Ladestation für die Akkus gekauft und nach kurzer Zeit funktioniert nur noch eine Seite. Auf eine Reklamationsmail wird erst gar nicht geantwortet.
Das fördert nicht gerade das Vertrauen in ein Unternehmen das Sicherheitstechnik verkauft.

LIES LIES LIES Thats all you get from Ring CS agents I placed an order with expidited shipping and was told Id get it May 8th once they got my money I got an email saying my order will be delivered on May 16th sp I called and told them to verify my shipping date and if it wasnt shipping out so id get it may 8th then cancel my order, the girl tells me logistic told her it cant be cancelled because info has been sent to shipping (LIE #1)I LOL and said thats BS if it hasnt been shipped then it can be cancelled so then call back and this girl tells me lohistics is telling her its set to ship in 2 days (LIE #2) I asked can you verify that and she tells me to send her a screenshot pf the mail saying i wont get it until may 16th so the logistics guy can check on it anyways an hour later still no answer from logistics so I asked for a supervisor and had him look in to it and he says that my email saying the 16th is probablly correct because logistics is telling him it hasnt been scheduled to ship yet (LIE3#) so I told him to cancel my order it hasnt shipped so it can be cancelled which he did
Disaster of a company, slow-rolled refunds they owed me
Disaster of a company. I’ve been with Ring for close to 20 years and discovered a few years back they were double billing me with each annual subscription. That went on for seven years before I caught it. I tried getting it stopped in 2024, but I was unsuccessful. I tried again in 2025 and got it corrected (at least they’ve told me so, will see when the next billing cycle rolls around). That meant they owed me seven years’ refunds for the overbilling. Easy fix, right? Not in the least.
They refunded three of those seven years fairly fast but dragged out the remaining four. I went on a months-long letter writing campaign with Ring and Amazon (parent company). Someone finally answered me a month ago and I received the remaining funds they owed me. I pointed out to Ring that had the roles been reversed, and I owed them even $5, they’d never give me months to repay it. In fact, they’d have turned me over to a collection agency with speed. It took them five months to finally pay back what they owed me, and that took ridiculous amounts of time and effort on my part pestering them to do the right and legal thing.
When I bought a Ring door bell/camera
When I bought a Ring door bell/camera, I expected all to be included free. But just about everything is on trial basis and I have to purchase subscriptions if I want video etc etc. All it is is a bell and camera which won't record unless you but a plan.
Be aware if you have to contact Ring for replacement be cautious because if it gets delivered to the wrong place, you’re most likely SOL…
I bought two indoor second GEN cameras in October of 2025 and one went bad within seven months so I contacted Ring and they sent a replacement through Amazon and Amazon for the fourth or fifth time delivered it to the wrong building so I didn’t get it. Contacted Amazon and they told me I had to contact Ring so I called Ring and they’re giving me the runaround so needless to say I’m SOL with getting my replacement camera. So for me, I’m switching brands. My word of advice is make sure if you have a similar issue. I guess you have to take notes because they want an order number which I don’t have because Ring ordered it and Amazon won’t take responsibility.
