We have a ring doorbell that is battery…
We have a ring doorbell that is battery operated. The battery does not last too long and I didn't realize it had stopped recording for several days because the battery was low. Of course, it was during this time that something occurred that we needed to look at video and it wasn't available. Prior to realizing this, I ordered two spotlight cams (battery) from Ring online. They sat in the box for a month because I had to leave town on a family emergency and by the time I was ready to install them, I had experienced the battery issue from the doorbell so I contacted Ring to see if I could exchange the two new battery operated cams for wired ones. I was told I could not because I was one day past the 30 day return. They said "their hands were tied," but after checking with their "team", they offered an exchange for something else that I didn't need and which was more expensive. They were making this exception as a courtesy and all I had to do was pay the difference. I explained that I did not need what they were offering and all I wanted was to return the battery ones and get a wired one. They refused because it was one day too late adn the system wouldn't allow it. Curiously, it would allow it if they could upsell me for something more expensive that I did not need.

Ring Rip-Off!
My Ring floodlights developed audio issues and then a red vertical bar on screen. Communicated with online support several times. Each time I spent nearly an hour resetting cameras to no avail. Out of frustration, I asked for two new cameras since they were not even a year old. I was told that they resolve “9 out of 10” issues... Nonsense and needless to say no remedies. Don’t buy Ring cameras because they are too expensive to go through this frustration. I have the Protection Plan I paid $100 a year for! Needless to say, I will no longer subscribe or recommend Ring.

Of course mine died after a year
Of course mine died after a year and when the warranty is up. I have the ring door bell, security system and this camera/light. The door bell is great and the alarm system after this last update is awesome. No problems with either but this camera is rubbish. It didn’t get used a ton. I bought an additional battery to extend the life and for what 1 yr of service. Terrible!!! Stay away. For the company i give them a 5 star on customer service. The two times I called they were amazing. For quality of this particular product 1 star for 1 year of service.

No wat een boeven
No wat een boeven, eerst 30 euro afschrijven van je rekening voor je protect plan. Vervolgens werkt ring niet meer naar behoren. En in ene heb je weer een 30 dagen trail, terwijl je voor een jaar betaald hebt. Schurken eerste klas

F U C K I N G bull S H I T service. Nothing can be done correctly or in a timely manner. The plan is the only good thing they have to offer, but if the plan gets canceled because of an address change or payment issue all your videos from plan conception get deleted. No call to check up on account, no text to your device, no warning on the app. Just a few emails and they cancel that S H I T. Gone Byyyyyeee.

Don't waste your money
The best way to describe this company with cameras the worst company for catching anything that is important it shuts off on its own for several hours at a time every day for some reason they cannot tell me why they cannot tell me why somebody is watching a live view of my house when I know I was asleep at 4:30 in the morning but somebody watched a live and no one uses my phone it didn't catch the dogs attacking me and it didn't catch my own Uncle stealing sh*** out of my house

The only good thing about ring is that it’s not the worst, yet.
Unreliable like the rest. Replay is super slow, app open really slow, camera get disconnected often, chime work only half the time. I hope one day American company will launch a home security camera good and reliable, because right now you can get cheap Chinese brand ones that have better apps and reliability, with the price tag of half. What a shame they should probably spend more money on R&D and not on advertising, it’s becoming the Beats of security cams.

Ring works great on initial setup
Ring works great on initial setup. However, I have had consistent issues since I moved into a new home and started new internet. I had to factory reset all devices (what a nightmare) and try to add them back. Some devices reconnected, some did not. So I tried Ring's customer service chat. I don't know who these people are, but they suck! You start chatting with some volunteer, but the volunteer never can answer your question, so they tell you you have to call Ring's Advanced Customer Support. I'm so frustrated with the process. This security system cost me waaaay too much money for this bs.

Je dispose d'une sonnette « ring doorbell » depuis 2 mois. Cette sonnette est connectée à mon ancienne sonnette mécanique et alimentée par le transfo de celle-ci. J'ai installé un ampli wi-fi à 1 mètre de la sonnette. De plus j'ai également installé une sonnette électronique « chime » de la marque. J'ai également souscris un abonnement pour stocker mes vidéos (cette procédure est celle recommandée par la marque). Mon smartphone et celui de mon épouse reçoivent les notifications de la sonnette Tout à été parfait pendant 2 mois. Après cette période, arrêt des infos de détection et arrêt de la fonction sonnette, seul la sonnette mécanique fonctionne, la sonnette « chime ring » ne fonctionne plus non plus. Plus de communication avec le smartphone, sauf en vidéo directe ou tout va bien, de plus je sais communiquer avec la sonnette « chime ring » au moyen de mon smartphone. En résumé, la détection et la fonction sonnette ne communiquent plus avec leur sonnette ni avec les smartphones associés. J'ai appelé le "service client" ou je suis tombé sur une dame qui m'a fait réaliser une suite d'opérations que j'avais déjà faites et me posant des questions complètement stupides étant donné le problème rencontré. Manifestement elle suivait une liste et ne connaissait rien au produit, car à plusieurs de mes remarque, elle me mettait en attente pour se renseigner. Après 1h15 , après avoir refait les mêmes opérations d’installation, de remise à zéro, de tests de toutes sortes (dont je savais qu’ils étaient bons) , n’ayant plus le temps de jouer , j'ai raccroché. Le lendemain, j'ai rappelé et ai eu une autre dame qui voulait recommencer tout la plaisanterie, étant plein de bonne volonté, la communication a duré 1h20 pour un résultat identique. Il apparait que le seul service de ring est le numéro de téléphone 00800 87 00 97 81. Si vous avez un problème ,on vous répondra assez vite et de manière très (trop) courtoise, mais pour la suite, Je vous conseille de prévoir une semaine de congé avant de l’appeler. Ce numéro correspond à un call center égyptien destiné vraisemblablement a dégouter le client qui est dans la panade. Un mot d’ordre : l’appareil n’est pas en panne, c’est le client qui est en cause.

Ring customer service is horrible
Ring customer service is horrible. I have tried several times to contact them, to no avail. I am having a problem with my cameras being compromised. Eg, Orange and Rockland installed a smart meter on my home. The ring camera didn't show the worker, only there was movement. This also happens when my grass is being serviced. I give Ring cameras a One Star. It doesn't work when you need it to work :( and addition customer service is unreachable:(.

Such a waste of money
Such a waste of money. We bought it and the microphone was broken. got a new one and the camera stopped working within a few days. Exchanged that one as well and same issue. We will never purchase another Ring product again

Horrible Product! Total Piece of Junk! Avoid!!
I signed up for ADT security and when they came out to install the camera that was included in the package, the tech installed a Ring Doorbell instead. After he installed it, I objected at first because that was not the expectation I was sold on when I signed up with ADT. Tech tried to tell me it was better (but now I know it was just because he screwed up and already installed the darn thing and probably was going to get in big trouble if he had to remove it.) They retail for over $250. He made it sound as if this was a better deal than an ADT camera. The Ring Doorbell SUCKS and I do not say that lightly. It records nothing that you need it to and only picks up motion of cars already driving away and people at your door already leaving. There will be 8 to 12 hour periods, generally at night or during the day when I’m at work, where there is no “history.” I had property in my yard that was vandalized in the middle of the night and the camera did not record any of it! Then today I got an email from Ring saying today was the last day to sign up for a “protection plan” which is very misleading. Apparently, and unknown to me before calling Ring support, if you don’t pay Ring (not ADT) a separate monthly or annual subscription fee, their “protection plan,” it will not store any video! So for example, if you came home to find that your car or home was broken into, you have no way of reviewing the footage. What on earth is that good for? So not only do I have to pay ADT, I would have to pay Ring also! And again, 90% of the motion you would want to capture is not. I took my garbage out last week and was right in front of the camera; didn’t capture any of it. So in other words, I could get robbed or murdered in my own home and this “security camera” would more than likely not record the person breaking into my house. The tech also told me the battery lasted for “months” when it only lasts 2 weeks at best. And after the battery goes down past 75%, the performance is even worse. This is the biggest rip off! I called ADT and they are going to remove the Ring doorbell/camera and instead install one of their own cameras, which is actually monitored as well. Ring doorbell is not monitored unless you pay $100 a year to Ring. BEWARE! Avoid this product at all costs, you will regret it! Awful, awful product! What kind of security camera doesn’t record what you need it to and doesn’t provide you security??

Ring doorbell doesn’t ring! And the customer support team is a bunch of unprofessional Lack of knowledge rude staff!! First ring doorbell stop working after only installed for Two weeks!! Replacement started to have same issues after a couple months! And trying to get help from ring customer support Is a joke!!! After all the frustration!!! I’m going to have this crap removed and install my original doorbell!!! at least i will know when someone is at my damn door!!!!! I’m done with ring! Inventor need to Make sure his invention actually works!!

Super slow to connect
Super slow to connect! Speakers suck ! I have the doorbell and floodlights and the commercial I saw about floodlights is not true to what you get! No one can hear you ! I hate that I spent 1$ on this crappy product ! I spent so much on these stupid ring products and to make things worsening we couldn't install them ourselves so I had to spent sooooooo much more to install them! Boooo RINg!

This company has false advertisement no range at night awful quality at night
This company has false advertisements our cars have been broken into on 3 occasions and several of us in the neighborhood have rings and none pick up the activity at night I guess maybe if you park 4 feet away it might and the 1 or 2 that have the videos are so unclear they are no help in identifying a person however let there be a bird 50 feet away and it will be sure to notify you off the hook spend the same or a little extra to get a good product.

Misleading marketing
supposedly the "plan" is optional but if you don't buy it you can't see any of the videos, let alone save them or share them. This is fraudulent. It doesn't do any good just to hear the alert sound because you can't see what it was unless you sit in front of the computer all day and watch it "live". That defeats the purpose. Also the video misses as many events as it records, regardless of how you set it up!

Not impressed. And I explained I did not have enough time to evaluate the system. 30 days from the day they ship and when you get it you have to make time to install it. Cordless cameras are worthless... you cannot see anything at night! I spent $1300 on the system and the customer service is terrible. I did not like Simplysafe much but their customer service was really good!! Very helpful

buy the alarm system for my business…
buy the alarm system for my business and when I need to call technical support because I had to leave and the system did not work, they told me I'm sorry it must be in a waiting tin to be called and they can help it. I've been waiting three days for the call and the system still does not work, I really regret having bought this

I really wanted to love this…
I really wanted to love this product...but the siren was only 70 decibels (barely louder than a conversation!) Even after exchanging the wired floodlight cam for a new one...still 70 decibels. Worst part was even when it was saving video it took up to one and a half minutes to show video (someone is in your house by then!) It's better than nothing but that's not what you want your advertising tag line to be. I was their biggest fan before I bought 2 of them. Will try a different brand next time. Oh, the tech told me that they might only 3 years!

Monthly subscription required! Not acceptable
Monthly subscription to see video is criminal. I have my own cloud and don’t need to pay 3.50 per month to store video but no choice with Ring. 200.00 for the device then 30.00 per year to see the video. Not for me. My Ring is installed at the front door with a dead battery and will rot there while I install Blink cameras. 5 outdoor cameras with 2 year battery life connected with a node to an S.D card with no subscription for 350.00. Much better investment.

Don't use this unless you are always home!
These products work only when there are absolutely no interruptions to your electricity or wifi. So if you are away and counting on their alarm system or cameras to work consistently, forget it! Need often resets which can only be troubleshot when on premises!!!!! Customer service is frequently uncertain how to help, their systems go down, they "need to update.." it's endless issues.
