Mooi verpakt maar dat was het dan ook Als je de verpakking ziet denk je met een ‘’iRing’’ van doen te hebben, prachtig strak verpakt allemaal en de verwachtingen waren dan ook hooggespannen. Een paar uur rommelen later is de teleurstelling echter groot, dit apparaat werkt gewoonweg niet of veel te traag, tenzij je speciaal voor de Ring een supersnelle wifi verbinding in huis hebt. Zo een die nog veel meer aan kan dan je standaard snelle wifi waarop je al je tv’s/mobiles/laptops/sonos en nog 15 andere apparaten probleemloos kunt laten draaien...behalve de Ring dus..fail

Never works
Never works. This was a gift and you basically pay for what you get. It’s the cheapest service I’ve seen and it never works. I get a ring and it just never loads. I exit out and back in to try and see it on my dashboard but it’s black. Really is more frustrating than anything. Not worth it. I have family members who have it as well that have the same issues I have. Pretty much the ringbell app is garbage. Never works.

More CONS than PROS
It's a video doorbell that's being marketed as a security device as a sales gimmick. Paid subscription service is required to record or store Videos. That's their real money making scheme. Videos are 30 seconds max & often start recording late. A criminal can snatch a package & avoid getting face recorded. The RING community is USELESS. Crimes seldom are solved. The community "rules" won't allow posting a crime if your description mentions the gender, race or any identifying details about the criminal. They call it "hate speech & profiling." A woman with pink hair & brown skin hit an elderly couple with a car & fled on foot into an apartment complex. Ring said I used hate speech by describing her gender, complexion & distinctive look. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Wast of Money
Have a ring doorbell - very slow to respond. But bought a camera floodlight to help protect our garage. What a MISTAKE - can't get it to stay connected and now won't connect at all. Ring customer service is a JOKE - they keep having you do the same process to connect (called insanity at this point) and can't get anybody to help at all. Would not buy this & would return it if I could - it still isn't connected to the internet. It just tells me it can't connect. DON'T buy!

We've had a Ring Doorbell 2 for about 6 months now. It's always been slow to react. The integration with our existing Alexa devices isn't advertised but their own Chime is, which makes them more money but is very inconvenient for us, losing an extra socket for no reason. The app is slow to load on 4G+ or on our high speed internet connection. From the press of the doorbell to the app showing you video can take up to 30s if not longer. The doorbell is connected to our ISPs wifi which sits at the other side of the wall at max reception so connection isn't the issue. After reinstalling my phone and logging in again I didn't receive notifications until after I redid the tutorial for an app that I had already used for months. The device tells you when your battery is low but for some odd reason it cannot tell you that there is no connection anymore. This is something you need to find out for yourself. Ours was just offline for close to 48 hours without me finding out, until my mom had to call me to tell me that she was at our front door. Since the sluggish app and the annoying settings having a number next to it pushing you to new settings you don't want to use but you can't get rid of the number next to it are things that you can solve. Maybe if the app was better I'd feel ok spending the €30 a year for keeping my videos on your servers of my front door. As soon as I move I will probably sell it and try another brand which doesn't scam you into this sort of soft hostage situation.

Beware... product will break and there is no support!
Beware.... this company is terrible!! Bought one last year...$250!! Installed in my porch out of rain and weather. Worked ok for 12 months then died. After too many hours on phone w techs they said it was unsalvageable. Told me that the 1 yr warranty had eclipsed by a few weeks and all they could do was give me a 30% credit on a new one. I ask why would I every pay a dime more for such a terribly delicate product from a company that does not stand behind it?? Please save your money this expensive toy is a scam!!!

If i could give this Zero stars or minus Zero stars I would. Bought the doorbell, and the chime. Installed/hard wired doorbell, ( had to put a hole in house ) ( told after installation that may need wedge to get proper angle for camera ) plugged in chime. downloaded both per instructions. Did not get notifications. No photos of people leaving or coming into the house. Called Ring. They told me to buy the Chime Pro!! $60. more. STILL no notifications, No photos of people leaving my house. They told me to buy ANOTHER type of extender for $199.00! ( told them NO MORE ) (already into Ring for close to $350.00 ) Is this some kind of scam?? Buy this and it will work!! But no, it does not work..... then purchase MORE. The ad you see on T.V. makes it seem you install, download, and voila.... your protected!! NOT TRUE. Would I recommend Ring. EMPHATICALLY NOT. Very disapointed, as well as Very upset with this waste of time and money.

Had Ring now for about 18 months. I will say its eeeeh ok. VERY delayed in response time to when it reacts to persons or movement. I have beefed up our wifi even to a mesh network even to help provide a full signal strength. The night time 1080 view of a person is very distorted, ghost type figure of anything past 10 or so feet. I think there are MUCH better products out there now. I have already told friends to NOT to purchase and shop around especially at their price.

They are horrible!!!!
They are horrible. The cameras go in and out constantly. I spend more time during the day resetting them and calling ring and staying on the phone for an hour hour and a half at a time listening to somebody with a foreign accent tell me how sorry they are as a reading it off of a page. The cameras never seem to work when you really need them. Believe me there’s got to be something better than this out there. I’ve had four cameras installed in less than two years because they keep going bad. They send you refurbished cameras and promise you the world but the problem is fixed just to have it keep happening again and again and again.

This review should be a Zero Star, but one is needed to make a review. First of, there is no customer service with regards to getting money back for a defected product, not in my experience anyway. I am still waiting, after two months since my device was returned to the company, for my full refund. I have been given the go around over and over both by phone and by email. Promise after promise, and yet still nothing. The logistics team who are supposed to know where the money is, but don't, repeatedly say that the accounting office is 'offline' so they cannot help me???What type of service is that!!

Paar maanden geprobeerd. Apparaat is vreselijk onbetrouwbaar. Ik heb hem zojuist van het kozijn afgeschroefd en het abonnement beëindigd nadat ik ALWEER een koerier heb gemist omdat de melding pas na 10 minuten komt. Op meerdere android apparaten ! Erg teleurstellend. In theorie is het een perfect apparaat voor mijn situatie. In de praktijk werkt het slecht.

Experience bad with this product
Entire experience has been bad with this product. 1) Was difficult to set up 2) Not usable through a phone that requires a password...you just don't have time to find phone, punch in password just to answer the doorbell! 3) Unless you have an electrician hard-wire, requires periodic charge 4) Lost charging cord, no power, and replacement kit lost in the mail. Major undertaking with customer service to replace a simple charging cord. 5) Criminals tried to steal the Ring and damaged it, doesn't provide any use if easily stolen. In summary great idea, very poor execution.

Path lights dud
So I grabbed a couple of the solar path lights from ring to go along with a mounted motion light. Programmed them up and when they came on they were barely lit. Brightness was all the way up but still very dim. Turned them on manually through app and lit the walk up nice. Turns out if they're on a program they stay dim to save battery and you can only turn them on manually for 10 mins. What a terrible design flaw. Why pay that price for lights that don't light your walkway. Very disappointed in ring. Returning right away.

Retrofit System Does Not Work - Would Not Recommend
I recently moved to a house with an existing wired alarm system. I bought a Ring Retrofit alarm and had it installed by the recommended Ring installation service. The Ring Retrofit alarm is not working with any of the wired motion sensors, and only one of the wired door sensors. Ring customer service have refused to take any responsibility for faulty installation, and are refusing to allow me to return the Retrofit system.

4 years POS and support admits it
I have had Nest and also 2 Ring doorbell for four years and I’m just disabling the Ring because it is a POS!!! No Support!! they’ve had me send back EIGHT that’s 8 times a unit and replaced it that they can’t get to work Support has been on my system constantly abd aknowledge that is their equipment not my wifi or setup It is a literally a POS and they don’t care because they sell so many of them there doesn’t matter to them anymore!!!!

Ze zijn heel erg asociaal aan de telefoon schreeuwen huilende kindjes hele gesprekken op de achtergrond waarvan je niks hoor of versta en als je wat harder ga praten dan gaan ze je verrot uitschelden als ik dit had geweten had ik de ring deur bel niet gekocht

RING betaalt retourzending niet terug!! Volgens de website kun je een net geplaatste bestelling binnen 50 minuten annuleren. Niet dus!!! Je krijgt het apparaat gewoon toegestuurd en kun je na diverse verzoeken met veel moeite een retourlabel krijgen. Eenmaal teruggestuurd hoop je binnen de gestelde termijn je aankoopbedrag terug te krijgen. Ook niet dus!! Veel beloven en telkens smoesjes verzinnen waarom de refund niet is overgemaakt. Ik wil nog een week wachten en zal bij het uitblijven van de refund aangifte doen.

Service Cost and Recording
I bought 4 flood lights with camera and two door bells and alarm system. I like the camera, but I don't like to pay for recording $100 a year for all devices or $30 a month for each device. I have two properties, so I need to pay twice. Plus, the camera sometimes recorded and sometimes does not. I don't know why. I suggest for all of you to invest the hard-wired cameras that comes with its own 2TB recording machine. Otherwise, you need to pay a lot of money to Ring. I might switch in the near future.

Ring camera is crap!
I bought the camera because it's easier to install than the doorbell camera. It came with 2 rechargeable batteries that they said would last for a year. That's the first lie! A week after it was installed, the battery needed charging again! I changed the settings and it was a little better. And the camera gives me a great view of the driveway, porch etc. So that's good. Then I have a motion alert, so I go to look and see what's going on. Can't connect to the camera for live view! This happens every time there's motion! So what good is a security camera that won't let you see anything! I really hate this thing!!!

Beware! You may need an electrician to install the Ring.com Doorbell. After spending an hour on the telephone with the Ring.com technician, he told me I needed to hire an electrician to install the Power Pak. The instruction video said that if my Power Pak did not look like the one in the Video (which it did not), then I should consult the written manual. Unfortunately, that was no help either because the instructions were very unclear and incomplete. The Ring.com technician was no help at all, even after I sent him pictures of my bell unit and the Power Pak. At some expense, I will now have to hire an electrician to come over and install the Power Pak. I will not buy from this company ever again!

Stay away!
Wasted over a hour on the service line, no one can help a tiny problem like making the backlight on the keypad work. Wish I read these reviews before I got one. I was stupid. In Germany Amazon charges double what the second gen cost rather then the 1st gen. The app has a horriable delay to make anything work which makes the system it self completely useless. I’m on fire I’m so angry. Customer service is a absolute joke!

Had A LOT of trouble getting it working correctly - and I am good with building, electronics, electrical work. Couldn't get the hard wire to my indoor Nutone chime working. Was on customer service once for an hour - someone went through a script with me like I already did (check voltage, is the light lit, duh), send pictures of the chime (although I provided them with the model number). Finally said I needed a diode (which they did not have). After over 1 hour, the told me to install one (I knew the diode was only needed in Gen 1 and I had Gen2) but I bought a diode (not easy to find). They planned to return my call 2 days later at 6:20 p.m. I installed the diode. Still did not work. By 7 p.m. I called them. Got another service tech who started out telling me to touch the wires, check the voltage, etc etc, things that I had already done many times. Again, had to send pictures of my devices (they again had the model numbers). This is a new home built 6 months earlier. After 1 hour 15 min, he told me the Ring device was not compatable with the Nutone chime - that it was too new (model 340) and suggested I buy an older chime and replace the new one. Does that seems like a reasonable thing? Hello. No satisfaction at all. Terrible technical service. We now have to buy their wireless chime to have an indoor sound and have a new Nutone that is useless.

I would never buy any other Ring…
I would never buy any other Ring Cameras in Australia because Rings Support Services in Australia are totally rubbish because there isn't any and if I had knownabout there poor service I would have Never Ever bought there cameras at all they are to Darn expensive , I would have tried some other brand , so now I am looking for Security cameras that give better support But Not Swann either ( Mick )

My Ring 2 door bell stopped working after 18 months. I believe it should last a few years. Offered 35% discount on new one. I don't think so. Will never purchase another ring product.

Wrong items received, headache getting a refund
Do not purchase from them! We ordered a new set up for the house we were purchasing and were sent the wrong things - almost every item we received was not on our original order. I called them immediately and was told the following through the course of a 2 1/2 hour phone conversation. 1) I had to send in a photo of the items I was sent for verification that the incorrect items were shipped. I also had to provide specific bar code numbers for each item that was shown on the outside of their individual packaging. (That does not show much for the faith that they have in their customers.) 2) They were not able to send a new shipment with the correct items until they received the wrong items they shipped up back at their warehouse. 3) They could not offer a cancellation and refund of our purchase until they received their original shipment of wrong items back in the mail and then it would take 2-4 weeks to get the refund. We decided to ship the items back and get a full refund. The original person I spoke with said we would receive a shipping label over email within 24 hours. I waited 48 hours and never got anything. I called again, went through the process again, and was promised another shipping label within 24 hours. This time it came through for us. I shipped the items back about two weeks ago and had not heard anything. I called them yesterday and requested information on the status of my refund. They had not done anything with it yet so the person I spoke with requested that they billing/ordering department escalate the issue and contact us. We received an email today from a customer service agent. My guess is that they didn't do much research since they asked me what the original order number was, what the tracking number was and what items had been returned. I was very frustrated at this point as the previous person I had spoken to told me I would not need to provide any more information as they already had the information from my very first phone call (see point #1 above). After talking to customer service again today on the phone, and checking my old phone to see if I still have the original photo I sent to them, I was able to reply to the email with the requested information. I will make note that we were sent 5 incorrect items and not all five of them were recorded in my "file/records" with the customer service people, despite them having said so and having received a photo of all of the items. We will see what happens from here. The level of customer service that we have received, along with the lack of communication between each department on their end, has put me off of this company forever. We will never purchase from them again or recommend them to anyone.
