I bought a Ring floodlight wired
I bought a Ring floodlight wired. Set the entire thing up and downloaded the ring app and find out I need to purchase the "bridge" to connect app to the unit. Called customer service. Could barely understand her. Terrible waste of time. Taking it back and not bothering with this company again.
Zeer slecht

Ring.com are dishonest thieves!!!
Ring.com are dishonest thieves!!!
You will only experience this when you return something and never receive the refund. You will call numerous times inquiring about your refund and, though they are very polite they will continue to say "It's coming". Don't hold your breathe because your refund will never come and you'll be forced to dispute charge with your CC co.
Horrible, rotten company
Horrible, that is, no service. Tried a chat to resolve issues and was told to follow instructions that weren’t even visible to read, that weren’t explained because one needs a tech degree to understand them. And to ‘hurry’ or ‘do it fast’ so we wouldn't get disconnected. They have no patience to help customers. Don’t they get that in order to use the device to troubleshoot a problem one has to toggle between apps to get things done, & in their time? I would give them a minus 10 for their uselessness.
Don't buy until they improve the service
Invest in better camera system .My camera was working perfect until the App was updated few months ago. Now the App has problem to connect or even doesn't see my camera. Picture quality is very bad and it's freezing . Even recordings are sometimes so bad that I am looking at the photo instead of video. Customer service is very bad . It's like writing with the machine . No direct answer for my question. Always saying to do the same thing even when I told them I did it already lots of time's. Lot's of emails and no answer or improvement.
Save your money and buy another video…
Save your money and buy another video doorbell, I am charging the battery evry 2 weeks and have the settings all to minimum. I stopped looking when the alert goes because no one is there and nothing is triggering it. For the same money I bought 4 wyze cameras and dont have to pay a monthly subscription for playback, lessons learned.
There are 2 security screws on the base…
There are 2 security screws on the base of the doorbell. When I tried to unscrew them for my initial set up, they wouldn't come out. I called ring and they told me I'd have to use a rubberband or put superglue on it to help it release. This is a brand new product. I shouldn't have to rig it on my first attempt to get it set up! I'm returning it. cheap crap.
Cool product
Cool product.
When they work.
I have 10 broken products in my living room. Keep getting mailed replacements and they keep not working. Over 40 hours on the phone for customer service
The only thing worse than Ring hardware…
The only thing worse than Ring hardware is the Ring software.
False motion detection (even with the so-called "people only" mode), missed motion (while I am standing right in front of the camera), and a TERRIBLE app that I have had to reinstall 15 times in 6 months.
$600 down the drain.
Don't waste your money.
A fool and their money are soon parted ... Buy Ring products and learn the hard way.
The product had a lot of potential to be a leader in the industry but, more and more, Ring is proving that the ONLY thing they care about is selling you another one of their products and hooking you into a monthly subscription to save the captured video.
We bought our Ring Video Doorbell 2 when it first came out and was mostly happy with the ease of getting it set up however, the detection zones ( actually ZONE ) setup is ridiculous. There are two detection areas -- One for "vehicles" and one for "people" that ARE NOT independently adjustable so, as we adjust the vehicle detection range so that it does not detect traffic on the street at the end of our 40' driveway, the pedestrian detection zone is also reduced to within 3' of our front door! I have tested this setting many times and have actually opened my front storm door before the camera detected that I was there. At night, it didn't detect me at all. Extending the pedestrian zone to the bottom of our front steps also extended the vehicle detection zone well into our neighbor's yard across the street. With this setting, pedestrian traffic was detected approaching our steps but, vehicle traffic that passed by on our street and every time our neighbor drove into or out of their driveway too. I called Ring technical support to ask if there was a way to separate these zones to make them indepently adjustable and I was told that this was possible with the new Ring Video Doorbell Pro that had just ben launched at that time but, there were no planned updates for the Doorbell or Doorbell 2. They suggested that I upgrade to the Doorbell Pro ( I'm sure they WOULD recommend that ... )
Since then, Ring has continued to pump out more and more of their electronic garbage -- Spotlight cams, Stickup cams, Floodlight cams, Peephole cams and now entire security systems. I believe that there is even now a Doorbell 3 and each and every one of them has it's own REQUIRED subscription associated with it for it to be of ANY use at all. Rather than giving the customers who have purchased Ring products in the past ( like myself and countless others ) the choice of whether they want to upgrade to a newer device with better features, while also keeping the existing products useful with firmware updates, Ring has proven that they will only sell their products and then "abandon" those customers to focus on selling more newer and more expensive products instead.
Buy their junk if you want ( because you "recognize" the name ) but, be forewarned, the purchase price of Ring products are only the beginning. There will be NO technical support and NO updates. You will be REQUIRED to pay a monthly ( or annual ) subscription for their "cloud storage" with NO options for local storage or upload to your personal cloud storage and, when you uncover your new product's shortcomings, Ring will only recommend that you spend ANOTHER $$$ to upgrade to their latest offering.
There are better products out there that offer much better features, the ability to record to local storage and does not REQUIRE a monthly subscription. Do yourself a huge favor and search out these products. Compare what you are truly getting instead of just falling for the deceptive advertising and name recognition alone, if you don't take your time and compare, you too will later learn the hard way and wish that you had heeded others warnings. Your money, your choice but you can't say that you haven't been warned.
Customer service is bad
Customer service is bad. You won't once again speak to anyone in the United States. Really bad and I am paying 10 a month for monitoring. I have only had a few months. Wish I could have EMC here where I moved to now. Ring is not worth the money or headache. Wish I could return the system back. In 6 months I will be looking for new system. 😠

I would never buy one of these again
I would never buy one of these again. by the time I get a notification that people are gone and if I try to go live by the time that activates if it ever does they could have already robbed my house and been 30 miles down the road. I bought a wyze camera at home Depot for $26 and is it better than this stupid doorbell. as soon as wyze comes out with a doorbell I'm going to purchase it and throw this thing in the trash. Don't waste your money on this piece of junk

I have had it for 3 days the battery is already dead. I googled how long they should last 6-12 months haha I shoulda known $200 down the drain u get what u pay for but $200 I’d rather buy a hooker
Good technology terrible app
The ring camera and doorbell work well but the app is the worst I have ever used. Do NOT turn on neighbors...you can’t remove the posted videos and they accumulate quickly. I have had ring for less than a week and have over 100 videos from neighbors. All I could do is turn off the neighbor function. Customer service was not helpful other than informing me that the posts cannot be removed. Too bad such a nice piece of technology has such a dysfunctional app.
The Ring battery powered camera does…
The Ring battery powered camera does give a view of what at least 5 minutes or more in the past. The so called “live view” rarely loads in less than 10 minutes. Forget about getting an alert and looking to see who’s there. It won’t happen, the will be long gone before it loads. I have strong internet (7 gigs) and a booster directly on the other side of the wall from the unit.
Ring(tm) uncovered.
Besides all the obvious problems with the technology as per the reviews and my personal experience, I do not want this review to be about a defective product. There are too many of those anyways. 😉
No, I want to review Ring’s corporate values or lack thereof.
March 11, 2020: The Covid-19 pandemic, the global market crash (Dow -1,000 again), looming recession.
Social distancing is proposed as a response to combat the spread.
Back to the Ring scandal...
A few weeks ago, I heard news of police departments using the Ring tech in order to surveil and arrest suspects committing crimes live on cam.
Today I witnessed Ring’s latest commercial.

It clearly shows that the cameras are being used as more than a smart doorbell. Various acts are captured on camera. One of them being leaving things at the door of a possibly quarantined neighbour or family-member.
New footage to an old theme.
Ring(tm) has, in my 2 star opinion, breached the rules. In more ways than one.
Awful customer service
Ordered several indoor cameras with overnight shipping and three days later still no cameras. Reached out to ring about the issue and received the worst customer service. Will be returning them all once I receive them and will be going with a different company.

Not consistent
Not consistent, but mostly Never work ..... don’t waste money
The Ring products are quite good
The Ring products are quite good. Billing on the other hand, mostly located in the Philippines, is not competent as they on average cannot speak English fully. Some do, a fair # of them don't. Beware if you have to deal with Ring's billing department. They'll waste your time with long holds as they check on things and may or may not fully understand your simple request.
Don't waste your money.
I've had Ring Video Doorbell for over a year now. I have just replaced it with an Arlo Video Doorbell as I could not keep the Ring device connected to my network. All my other Arlo and ADT cameras do not experience any connectivity issue at all. Don't waste your money.
I post legitimate videos of criminals…
I post legitimate videos of criminals and crimes taking place on Ring Event, but the Neighborhood Monitors erase them all because they dont want to tarnish the image of the neighborhood. I figure the monitors must be real estate agents trying to keep home values up. But they ACTUALLY cut communication with neighbors over real events for some backward issue. They sell to protect your neighborhood but they ACTUALLY help hide the criminals. More crime more sells for Ring so let keep crime up. Good for business.
