Beware: Non-Replaceable Bulbs Make This a Disposable Product
I purchased the Ring Floodlight Camera expecting a premium security product, but I've been deeply disappointed by a major design flaw: the LED bulbs are not replaceable.
After just a few years, the bulbs burned out – a completely normal occurrence for any lighting product. However, unlike most outdoor floodlights where you can replace the bulbs for a few pounds, this product is designed so that you cannot replace the bulbs at all. This means you’re forced to throw away the entire unit, even though the camera and motion detection features still work perfectly.
Why This is Unfair to Consumers
1. Lack of Transparency: Nowhere in the product’s main description is it clearly stated that the bulbs are non-replaceable. As a consumer, it’s reasonable to expect this information upfront.
2. Unnecessary Waste: This design choice is wasteful and environmentally irresponsible. It forces users to replace an otherwise functional product because of something as minor as a burned-out bulb.
3. High Replacement Costs: Ring offered me a 30% discount on a new £180 unit, but why should I have to spend that much when the problem could have been solved with two replacement bulbs costing less than £10?
What Buyers Should Know
• If the bulbs burn out (and they will, eventually), your floodlight is useless.
• Replacing the entire unit is your only option because of this restrictive design.
• There are no clear warnings in the product description about this limitation.
Conclusion
While the camera and motion detection features work well, I cannot recommend this product because of the poor design and lack of transparency. Think twice before buying, and consider alternatives that allow for replaceable bulbs or modular components.
Customer service is the worst
Customer service is the worst. First you can barley understand then and second they are rude and don't know anything. I called today about their most recent update where the remove the red dot on the upper right hand corner of the cameras screen which indicated you had a recording. They told me they found it to be useless and I asked why would you not ask you clients if it is useless and they told me they know better the the clients would. I have 1 cameras and if they don't put the red dot back on I will dump Ring and go elsewhere!!!

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Prices changed, which meant having two plans went from being cheaper to more expensive than the upgraded subscription. They tell you your own prices will rise, but don't tell you the proportions change. This is because they want to overcharge. That's rather scammy. I brought this up but the agent was either unable or unwilling to understand, let alone do anything about it at all. They don't take complaints, they don't do refunds - even if you've paid extra for several months for nothing and they could very well have prevented this in the first place. They would rather argue with you than keep a customer. I will be getting a non-subscription doorbell from now on, Ring is a terrible company, and you should trust the real reviews.

Absolut unverschämt
Absolut unverschämt. Habe ein Doppelpack gekauft und wollte es wieder zurückschicken. Nach einem 35 minütigen Telefonat mit einer schlecht deutsch sprechenden MA hat man mir aufgrund einer fehlenden Nummer, die NICHT auf der Kamera war,keinen Retourenlabel zugeschickt. Man hat sogar von mir verlangt die Kamera aufzuschrauben. Das muss man sich mal vorstellen.
Jetzt schlucke ich den bereits bezahlten Betrag, melde es dem Verbraucherschutz und rate jedem hier NICHT zu bestellen.

Had apparently paid in dollars, something that was 20% more expensive than to pay in my local currency. When I asked Ring to pay me back what I had overpaid, they just said it wasn't possible.

Bij de concurrenten zijn deze met ook nog eens betere kwaliteit en normaal geprijsd: 55 - 65,-.
Jammer, want ik was wel fan van ring, maar ik ga echt geen 99,- betalen voor een buitencamera.
Mensen de camera’s - en waarschijnlijk de rest ook - zijn te duur tov vele anderen, advies kijk verder!

Ring Loses videos and can't account for them
My plan was upgraded on Nov 12 and should have been saving videos for 180 days. My car was keyed a few days ago. There are only videos for the last two days. Ring has no answer but to say I "must have deleted them". They can't recover them or tell me what happened to them. I Haven't been in the account and it certainly hasn't been hacked, it has 2FA and a password that is far to complex to crack. I would NEVER pay for the camara's or this plan again. When I needed them, they were not there. They are keeping the money of course.

Vous tchatez avec un IA (robot numérique) et il vous trouve quelques réponses en dehors de la question. Au bout il vous informe un numéro de téléphone. La vous tomber sur un disque puis raccroche. I don't need a notification popup every time I open the app letting me know a subscription service that I don't have is expiring. The cameras are absolute junk and barely function. I have full size bucks walking in front of the camera that don't trigger the motion sensor but a leaf blowing in the wind will trigger it. The UPS truck doesn't trigger it sometimes. The light settings are even worse, I made the light sensor area as small as possible and it gets triggered on from motion half a block away.

Extrem schlechter Kundenservice, verweigert Rechte
Ich habe eine Defekte Kamera die gerade mal 3 Monate alt ist. Die Linse ist von innen angelaufen daher ist das Bild schlecht bzw. nicht mehr zu erkennen.
Der Kundenservice sagt es gibt keine Garantie sondern nur 30% Rabatt. Auch ein Vorgesetzter hat dieses bestätigt. Ich wurde noch nie so unfreundlich als Kunde behandelt. Ich erhalte keinerlei Hilfe und soll nur mit 30% Rabatt ein neues Gerät kaufen, obwohl wir in Deutschland 2 Jahre Gewährleistung haben.
Zudem zahle ich das Ring Abo….
Unglaublich.

Avoid at all costs
I feel like adding a review is a pointless task given their current rating. Been awaiting refund for items for a month (despite having a no questions asked return policy). I have called three times, was hung up on once, I’ve sent two emails which have had no response. The item was returned using their return labels and every time I call I am being stonewalled. They claim the return is pending and has been for a month now. I’ve reported to trading.

I am an 85-year-old computer illiterate satisfied with Google Chrome who did not intentionally switch to ring. My computer did it for me. Since the switch my computer has run slower and there is a locked-in Access Your Account message that I can not get rid of when I try to go online. When I try accessing my account I need a varication code that is not being sent to my email address. I have supposedly sucessfully reinstalled Google Chrome but evidently ring is blocking access to it. I'm sorry if I have been using incorrect terms but the following is correct. I want ring gone and to never invade my computer again!!!

Horrible application for security ans safety. I recently moved into a new house and decided to get the ring camera system because we had old tenants come and filter through my mailbox for a few weeks. I tried to post it on the ring neighborhood app and they denied my submission. I put up decorations for Christmas and just had some lady steal one of the decorations off of my yard and tried to post asking if anyone knows this lady, and they denied my post again. All they allow is missing animals. Who is approving these things? I'm literally having illegal acts of theft happening and I can't even use it's features of security. Meanwhile this lady is walking through my front yard every other day on my personal property. What's the use of a security system that doesn't provide security?
Ring.com has robbed me after paying my subscription
I've been a paying customer for years. Now, they decided that after changing my billing currency from USD to EUR, my current subscription is gone, and they cannot either refund me for the billed period or provide the remaining period using the new currency for free. Unless I get a solution immediately, I am moving forward with consumer and commerce organizations and maybe even a lawyer. This is completely unacceptable!

Some of the worst customer service I have experienced. I ordered a ring doorbell on a special offer and received a confirmation email. After a few weeks, I did not receive my order and contacted Ring. It took a long time to get through and when I did, the representative advised that there must have been an issue. They further advised that they could no longer provide the discounted offer. I accepted a full refund and a week later had not received the refund. Again, I contacted customer support who were less than helpful, making me jump through hoops to verify my account (even though I didn’t have one). I eventually received a refund - avoid!!!
Ring support is horrible
Ring support is horrible. At first I could not get out of a chat loop. After about 30 minutes I found a phone number to call. Then I dealt with a recording . Finally a talked to a human and she solved my problem. She was nice and helpful, but her accent was so strong I had to ask her to repeat everything . Ring clearly is not investing in customer support.
