useless. I spent four hours trying to get the device and chime set up. Nothing works! You can't hear the doorbell. The chime doesn't connect to anything so don't bother.
On the plus side, there is a nice blue circle that lights up while your guests wait and finally give up and leave.
It's the perfect doorbell for people that don't want guests.
I went through the setup process at least six times. It never set up properly.

Customer Service - Lacking!
We have had two replacement batteries.
Sometimes it notifies us, sometimes it doesn't. We purchased this so we could be away, can't trust it.
When we get back home and look on the laptop, we see activity every 3 minutes, but nothing on the video history.
We'll try customer service again tomorrow.
BOTTOM LINE - Don't trust it. The commercials they show you on TV and the TV news clips are one in a million.....BS
The only reason I gave it two stars vs. zero is that it did work for a few weeks after the second battery. Maybe it doesn't like the cold in WI.

If I could rate with Zero stars here I would! DO NOT PURCHASE A RING PRODUCT! YOU WILL GET SCREWED! I ordered over $2000 worth of Ring products on 12/12. It is now 1/2/20 and I have not received my order! After multiple follow-ups, promises and delays, nothing!!! To say the customer service was bad would be a understatement. This experience has turned my once positive experience with Ring 180 degrees. I know posting this is meaningless, but at least a bit of therapy in venting my frustration. By the time you read this, you will have already been screwed by this company, so I'm sorry you are now joining the ranks of former Ring customers.
Replacement missing important funtions
I installed a ring video doorbell in Feb of 2019. December 2019 I noticed damage to the outside of the device. Looks like battery acid was leaking or something. They sent me at replacement upon seeing pictures of the damage. I installed the replacement to find out after hours of chat with support that the newer models are now missing VERY IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS! It replacement does not have the function of turning the outside sound that emits from the doorbell when pushed off. It is a privacy issue for me and it is loud outside. It ux a deal breaker for me. I have no use for a ring doorbell if that fuction is no longer an option. So now what????
Really horrible customer service
Really horrible customer service. My ring door bell is defected. After two phone calls. First call was routed to overseas. The operator just literally ignore me in middle of conversation and started having conversation with someone on background. Society phone called I was told I was going to receive a replacement. It’s been three weeks. Still don’t see the replacement here. Very disappointed.
Subscription
Its ok but really i have to wait to check on my camera and after about a month of free recording, it just stops and they tell you they you have to pay for it.It comes out of nowhere. They never tell before purchasing it that there is a trial for recording and that you have to pay 30 bucks for a year plan or 3 dollars per month which isn’t bad but they could have told us.

Worse than useless
Worse than useless. Ring is 3m away from the WiFi box. I 20mb virgin fibre broadband and it never worked properly. By the time my phone buzzed to tell me there was someone at the door they had already left.
The worst part in my opinion is charging a subscription to store and video. This is the main reason for purchase for me and I have to pay a subscription on top!? The video could very very easily be stored locally but then Ring couldn’t tie us in to a subscription. Despicable profiteering.
Doesn’t even deserve one star
Doesn’t even deserve one star. Ordered some cameras and was told 2 day free delivery. I call back for tracking info and they say 7 days plus. I go to cancel an order that wasn’t placed and they tell me they can’t cancel it. This is horrible customer service and has put us in a bind. I have 2 hours plus of my time on hold and dealing with this. It’s a great product but without good customer service I’ll go elsewhere.

Slechte service. Ring zou een registratie van mijn deurbel verwijderen (tweedekans product, kon Ring niets aan doen maar ze zouden het oplossen) maar komen de belofte niet na. We zijn nu al weken bezig om die registratie verwijderd te krijgen, het is mij op 11 december al toegezegd. Zolang de registratie niet is verwijderd is de deurbel niet te gebruiken. Reageren nauwelijks op mails en laten je net zo lang in de wacht hangen als je belt tot je ophangt. Waardeloos
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
On 12/18/19, I received a call from Ring stating my home system was alarming, and asking if I wanted them to dispatch police. After saying yes, I returned home to wait for police arrival. After waiting about 15 minutes, I called Ring back to get an estimate on when police would arrive. (FYI - if your system alarms, and Ring contacts police for you, you cannot get any information from the police department because they cannot verify who you are. You could be the suspect, gauging response time.) I was told by Ring's customer service rep (after being transferred two or three times...more about that in a minute) that "Ring had done all they could do," and I should "call 911 for more information on response." Long story, short...after an hour, police had not arrived (I live in a large metropolitan area), and two return calls to Ring yielded absolutely NO assistance.
My return calls to Ring for assistance were placed to the phone number that initially contacted me. This goes directly into Ring's general call center queue, where you're offered options to purchase Ring products, receive installation/troubleshooting assistance, etc. There is no option for a stressed out homeowner trying to receive additional information about an in-progress alarm. After making what seems like the most logical choice of options in the queue system, be prepared to be transferred at least two more times, each time greeted by a customer service rep in another country that has no idea how to help you. You will be placed on a "brief hold" at least twice, while they research how to help, only to transfer you to someone else when they return, who also has no knowledge of what to do. When Ring dispatches the police for you, they are given an incident number by the police department. How easy would it have been to provide that number to me on my first follow-up call, so I could contact my police department, give them the number, and obtain an estimated response time? Also, how hard would it be for Amazon/Ring to have a direct alarm/dispatch number available for customers who are already stressed-out because their system is alarming, that bypasses their not-at-all helpful regular queue? AND, how hard is it to ensure that all Ring CUSTOMER SERVICE reps have enough training/information on hand to assist customers that may be experiencing a very scary time in their lives? The thought that someone who doesn't belong there, may be in your home is very frightening...believe me, you don't want/need the added stress of navigating through a phone system that has absolutely nothing to do with your emergent situation. Especially, if you're PAYING an annual fee for a service that claims to provide peace-of-mind to its subscribers.
This story ends with my brother and I entering the house after an hour to find nothing out of place, but I can't stop thinking about how much time was wasted on the phone trying to obtain information during that hour. Would you want to go through all of this if your system was alarming?
Poor quality
Poor quality, motion to record lag is unacceptable. Can not get live view when needed, drops out and does not alert or record for days yet power and connection are strong. Video was good, now video is very poor. Night vision unacceptable.
I have had ring for one year
I have had ring for one year. Hard wired to doorbell power. I understand that frequent notifications and live view quickly drain battery power. I have maintained the same settings for the year. At first the battery only required removal and recharge one time in six months. Now I am recharging battery seems like once per week. I just installed a fully charge battery on Christmas Day and I am at 11% charge remaining. Sad.

Biggest POS It disconnects from WiFi. It won’t let you live view, when it does it is way too late what ever you wanted to look at is long gone. Stops recording incidents for some reason, then will start working again once you start Messing with it. The incidents it catches and you get a black screen when you review them. Yup fuggin MINT. Best of all it’s only a little over a year old

Ring doorbell customer service
Purchased my ring doorbell and it last 3 months and started messing up (blurred vision)Ring sent me a replacement and that one worked for one day then wouldn't work after that. I called customer service and was on the phone with them for 2 hours for them to do nothing but offer another replacement and a 6 month upgrade to my ring package.
One half hour over $3.00 a month
Ring sent me an email saying our monthly debit card was not valid any mont. I tried to go into their payment plan web page and entered all the information for our new debit card and after three tries decided to customer their customer service for help. The person their phone I could hardly understand her. She said was not based in America. She said I did n0t have card on file, I told three times your company has been taking the monthly $3.00 each month before. Tried again to enter the correct and valid card information again three times and again rejected. I told her I have using this many times and then gave up. Why does a company owned by Amazon use Americans for their customer service?
Unreliable
Not sure how or if they actually read what gets posted on their incident board. Post something of legitimate interests and they remove it. Great idea, very poorly executed.
Ordered ring spotlight
Ordered ring spotlight. The screw in the collar takes a special tool they do not provide. If u can’t get the collar off then you can’t snap the ball into its place. Ridiculous design. Stuck with an expensive camera that can’t be mounted. Don’t buy it. Trust me.

It's very confusing
It's very confusing. When I first purchase the ring doorbell, it worked great. When someone came to the door I could see them quickly. I could speak to them. Now it takes so long to view the video that by the time you said the person is long gone. Also, the feature to be able to speak to someone is gone because they're not there. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Useless.

Mailtjes worden na 1 week beantwoord, maar niet inhoudelijk. Altijd standaard een excuus dat ze te laat reageren. Andro A, is mijn contact persoon, die beloofd geld terug te storten. Ik heb na een maand nog niets ontvangen. Via Facebook krijg ik standaard antwoorden en moet ik mijn verhaal keer op keer vertellen. Bizar slechte service!!!
